Current information about the organisation of Orlický maraton

Throughout the Czech Republic we are currently facing persistent thaw, which unfortunately has not escaped the locations of ČEZ SkiTour races. We would therefore like to inform you well in advance about the obvious changes to the routes and locations of the Orlický maraton, which is to take place next weekend on 3 - 4 February.

The Orlický marathon race will most likely not take place in its traditional location, i.e. at the cross-country skiing stadium in Deštné v Orlických horách. The snow is really falling here and according to the forecast we cannot count on snowfall and further improvement of the situation. The only possible option to hold the race is to move the start, finish and complete routes to the mountain saddle Šerlich, where the race has already been held in the past with similar snow problems.

This option, however, is not certain even with regard to the current weather forecast for the following week and we will therefore contact you with the final decision regarding the organisation of the Orlický maraton on Monday 29 January, when we will have a more up-to-date weather and snowfall outlook for the Šerlich area.
