Harrachov closed the 16th season of the ČEZ SkiTour with classic races. Over 11 000 skiers took part in the whole series
The last stop of this year's SkiTour series was quite a challenge for the organizers. Harrachov chose a not very kind weather for its premiere, but it did not discourage the skiers. In total, over 400 skiers, from the smallest to the most experienced trophy collectors, took to the white trails. The whole series, including the record-breaking ČEZ Jizerska 50, was attended by over 11,000 racers.
After a warm Friday, a cold Saturday came to Harrachov and brought with it a good blizzard. The morning belonged traditionally to the children on the Mini SkiTour, from benjamins to older pupils and pupils. A total of 125 children were present in Harrachov, for whom shorter circuits from 500 m to 3 km awaited. Chumelenice nechumelenice, the little big cross-country skiers had a great time!
At noon it was time for the longer races. Saturday's race day in Harrachov offered three classic routes, 40, 20 and 10 kilometres. Slightly muddy tracks were a real challenge even for our professional lubrication service SWIX, but it was worth it! Petr Knop won the longest 40-kilometre course by less than a minute ahead of the legendary Stanislav Řezáč, while Vendula Ryšavá triumphed among the women.
Adéla Ročárková and Tomáš Veber won the shorter 20-kilometre race, while Tomáš Znamenáček and Zuzana Kubíčková crossed the finish line in the shortest race. The ten-kilometre race under the patronage of Czech Television was not the last straw for the 16th season of the SkiTour series. In the early evening, all competitors and the general public were rewarded by the singer Pokáč at the ČEZ Mini Energy Fest in the heart of Harrachov, followed by the announcement of the absolute results of this season.
