The prayers of thousands of cross-country skiers and organisers of the 53rd year of ČEZ Jizerská 50 were answered. Thanks to the snowfall of recent days the weekend race can take place on most places of the original trails. Therefore, the reservation for circuits is cancelled; every participant will start out according to the original schedule.

“Although there are some difficult sections, such as Jizerka, Krásná Máří or Olivetská hora, they cannot prevent us from preparing the race almost in full,” says Martin Koucký, Chairman of the Jizerská padesátka SKI CLUB.

Dozens of people are working on the race trails at present; they are preparing both the race conveniences and the trails. “The trails require most work. Although there are several centimetres of snow, that wouldn’t do without their dedication and working round the clock. It’s in our hands now. We are going to great lengths to make sure that the race takes place as completely as possible,” adds Koucký.

That is one of the reasons why the organisers decided to cancel the reservation for blocks. Now they rely on the option of a full race with slight changes around the difficult sections.

The distribution of the competitors’ race numbers will start in the Nisa Liberec Shopping Centre at 9 a.m. tomorrow. For more information go to www.jiz50.cz.
